Melanie is Senior Counsel in the Impact Litigation Unit of the NYC Law Department, where she represents the City of New York in litigation and strategic advocacy which has the potential to achieve broad impact and improve social justice for New Yorkers. She is the recipient of a 2020-2021 Affirmative Leaders Fellowship with the Public Rights Project, where she partners with her cohort of Fellows from local and state governments around the country to protect the rights of the people in the communities they serve. She also currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of the Fifth Avenue Committee.
