Mr. Barahona started his career at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development in the Division of New Construction as a project manager working on various projects throughout East Harlem and lower Manhattan. He also spent 13 years as part of the development team at BFC Partners where he was responsible for managing numerous projects from start to finish. In 2014, Mr. Barahona created SMJ Development and is currently responsible for developing a number of affordable housing developments all over NYC.

Juan graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Government (1998) and MPA (2001).
